I saw Julie and Julia, and I thought that although Meryl Streep and Amy Adams are fabulous actresses, this movie couldn’t hold a candle to their other recent collaboration, Doubt. The movie was about a half hour too long for me, and I didn’t think there was enough plot to really fill the movie. Its only redeeming quality for me was the spectacularity of both actresses. Particularly Meryl Streep who continually amazes me with the variety of characters she can pull off flawlessly. I think the idea of the movie was clever, but it was not executed as well as I had hoped when I walked into the theatre.
I just discovered this blog, so I don’t know if you’ve already explained why you gave it 4 stars. If you haven’t I’d like to know why you liked it so much, and if you have, can you direct me to that review. Marshall, this blog is so impressive. I will be giving you major props when you stop in our acting lab 2 class tomorrow!

Alexis, technically speaking, it was 3 1/2 stars. But here’s the link:

If you click on any of the titles in gray above, it will redirect you to the more in-depth review that I have posted.
