Although I may have managed to see all the Best Picture nominees on nomination day, I still haven’t seen all the nominated performances.
I got fairly close this year: 13/20. Or, as it would be called at my school, an F. Maybe next year I can pass…
(NOTE: It wasn’t possible for me to see them all without traveling to New York because “The Last Station” still hasn’t opened here.)
Which ones are the other five performances that you haven’t seen marshall?
the only movies i’ve missed that are nominated in ANY category (except shorts and documentary categories) are the last station and il divo.
although the last station is still playing in toronto so i might catch it by the end of the week,
I’m currently at 14/20 – I saw Colin Firth in “A Single Man” this weekend. Review should be coming up today.
Best Actor (4/5) – Haven’t seen Jeff Bridges in “Crazy Heart.”
Best Actress (4/5) – Haven’t seen Helen Mirren in “The Last Station.”
Best Supporting Actor (2/5) – Haven’t seen Woody Harrelson in “The Messenger,” Christopher Plummer in “The Last Station,” or Stanley Tucci in “The Lovely Bones.”
Best Supporting Actress (4/5) – Haven’t seen Maggie Gyllenhaal in “Crazy Heart.”
So only 4 movies left to see – unless “The Messenger” re-opens in Houston, I won’t be able to be 20/20 by Oscar night. Sad, I know.
Weird. I have seen almost of all of the film, except for “The Last Station.” It’s playing nowhere! I heard about the bad buzz around the movie. That’s not good.
Oh man, you really have to watch the messenger.
the movie sits at my 6th spot on my favorites of the year list, and even better than woody harrelson (whom i adore) is samantha morton who is just as good as you’d expect her to be.
Jeff Bridges is a must see too.
