I didn’t watch the MTV Movie Awards last night.  Did you?

Really, I don’t see the point.  The awards are decided by the box office dollars and the biggest fanboy power.  Find me one serious critic, or really just anybody who has a brain when it comes to film, that would say that “New Moon” is the best movie of the year.  Or better yet, find me a sane person who could look me in the eyes and tell me that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson delivered the performances of the year.

I don’t need an awards show to celebrate the celebrity and the power of the fan.  I see it manifested in People, US Weekly, and the countless other magazines devoted to giving us every detail of the lives of celebrities.  I see it on E!, the channel which was one of the major players in bringing about the so-called “Celebrity Revolution.”  (But not even kidding, do yourself a favor and watch their 20th anniversary special.  It’s one of the smartest looks at our culture I’ve seen.)

No, I reserve my time for awards show that reward people and movies that actually deserve awards.  Movies like “New Moon” have an award in box office millions, and we don’t want to send a message to Robert Pattinson that his acting is … good.

But on a happy note, congratulations Anna Kendrick for winning Best Breakout Performance for “Up in the Air!”

I wouldn’t watch the MTV Movie awards with a gun in my mouth.

Even Aziz Ansari wasn’t enough to get me to watch.

I watched it, because I didn’t have internet last night and nothing else to do at midnight.

Ansari was actually pretty funny, though the rest of the show did kinda suck.

I was shocked to see Kendrick win an award for Up in the Air. And then I saw her get on stage with the New Moon crowd at the end, and then it hit me. “ahhh, now i get it!”

Oh, and Kristen Stewart might be the worst public speaker….ever…I seriously think Hellen Keller could’ve put together more comprehendable and fluent sentences.

I wonder if the ballot said “Anna Kendrick for Up in the Air but really New Moon.”

Do you know what Hellen Keller’s dog’s name was?

Are we really going to start telling Helen Keller jokes here? If you must, try to keep it classy…

Hahaha, I love telling that joke. Although, I do with ‘Why did Hellen Keller’s dog committ suicide?’ and then… ‘You would too if your name was ________’

In the interest of decency, I must refrain from telling all of my favorite jokes.

I watched clips I thought would be “worth while” online the next day. Kristen Stewart is the worst public speaker, interviewer ever (I read once that she compared the press, cameras, the red carpet ect to being raped…) but this was an improvement from last year when she comically dropped her award.

I was happy that Anna Kendrick won for “Up in the Air” and she delivered probably the best speech when she accepted the award and said; “I am not cool enough to win an MTV Movie Award, so I am not going to mess it up by talking anymore than I should.” I thought it was brilliant, and that Stewart should take some notes from her costar.

I hope someday MTV will be about music again. Because they can’t judge movies. Great blog
