Random Factoid #261

Back in 2004, Blockbuster told me in a commercial that I would remember where I was when I heard about the end of late fees.

It’s 2009 and I don’t remember.  If I had to guess, I was in front of some TV.  Where that TV is, I have no idea.

So take that, Blockbuster!  Your advertising didn’t work!

(P.S. Does anyone remember this commercial?  Without watching the YouTube link I put below?)

Hey! Laverne from Scrubs is in this commercial! Twelve seconds in.
I love finding pre-fame celebs.

Also…R.I.P. Blockbuster.

It’s sad that Blockbuster could not adapt with the times. Do you think 2010 (or 2011) will finally be the year Blockbuster closes up shop?

I sure hope they don’t … I need them for all those really old movies that I can’t find anywhere else! There is simply no way that you can fit all those movies into a Redbox kiosk, and so many studios don’t put their older stuff for rent on iTunes.

They might take some big financial hits, but the traditional disc/tape renting store has to stay open for the sake of moviegoers like me (us)!
